For Summit County Interior Designers

You designed it.
We build it exactly the way you drew it.

Adam founded AK Renovations because too many Summit County homeowners were getting handed off to crews that didn't read the drawings. If you are an interior designer, we want to be your build partner. You bring the client and the spec book. We build it the way you specified, on time, with clean sites, no upsell games behind your back.

Two Ways We Work With Designers

Your client, your design.
We are the build crew.

Some designers want a contractor on speed dial they can hand a client to. Others want AK as their go-to GC for every Summit County build phase. Both paths put you in front of the client. We stay in our lane: construction, schedule, budget, finish quality.

Path A

Project-by-project build partner

You finished the design, the client wants to build, and you need a GC who will not try to redesign it on the fly. Send the package our way for a buildability review and a fixed-price proposal.

  • Constructability review of your drawings before pricing
  • Fixed-price proposal tied to your spec book
  • RFIs come to you in writing, not verbally to the client
  • Change orders routed through you first
  • Your selections sheet drives the order list
Path B

Preferred GC on your roster

For designers who do recurring residential work in Summit County, we can be your default contractor. Same crew, same standards, every time. Your client does not get bounced between trades they have never met.

  • Direct line to Adam, not a project manager wall
  • Same crew on every job for finish consistency
  • We hold your design intent through punch list
  • Honest call when a detail will not work in the field
  • You stay the lead on selections and revisions

Why Designers Send Their Clients to AK

The contractor who reads the drawings.

1

We protect your client relationship

You are the design lead. We do not pitch redesigns, push different finishes, or give your client a quiet alternative behind your back. The client stays your client.

2

RFIs go to you, not your client

If a detail is unclear or will not work as drawn, we send a written RFI to you with photos and options. Your client does not get cornered in their kitchen and asked to make a decision they should not be making alone.

3

We hold the spec book

The selections sheet you delivered is the selections sheet we order from. No quiet substitutions, no "we used a similar one," no surprises at install.

4

27 years in Summit County

Adam Kilgore has personally worked in, remodeled, or built over 400 homes in Summit County over 27 years. He knows the inspectors, the trades, and the houses you are designing into.

5

Immaculate job sites

Floors covered, dust contained, debris hauled out daily. Your client can keep living in part of the house while we work, and the photos you will eventually take of the finished space will show the work, not the dirt.

6

Three to four jobs at a time, on purpose

We run only three to four projects at a time. That means the build manager you are talking to is Adam, and the crew on site is the same crew every Monday. Continuity is how design intent survives construction.

The Bigger Picture

If your client wants a complete home plan

Some clients want more than a single project. They want a long-range plan for the whole house with budgets for every room. For those clients, Adam founded Hometown Builders Club, a separate program that delivers a Home Clarity Report and a lifetime advisor relationship.

HBC is optional and entirely separate from your build engagement with AK. If your client is a fit, we can introduce them. Your design role and your client relationship are not affected.

Full disclosure. AK Renovations is part of the Hometown Builders Club ecosystem. Adam Kilgore owns AK Renovations and founded Hometown Builders Club. We tell you that up front because honest partnerships start with honest disclosure. When you hire AK as your build partner, the work is done by the same small crew under Adam's direct supervision regardless of whether HBC is involved.
